VOICES FROM OUR COMMUNITY
What really stood out to me was Dara's ability to create a space that was both safe and challenging, where I can push myself as an artist but also be fully seen as a person. She doesn't just teach movement, she brings movement to life with history, meaning, and emotion.
Dara is a teacher who was tough on my daughter, but there was this beautiful marriage of high expectations, encouragement, love and seeing that special thing in each dancer and believing that everyone is a dancer. If you have a body, you can dance.
Everywhere Dara goes she takes people who have never danced a day in their life or don't want to do it, and didn't think they could do it, and they're doing it, and they're doing it really well and with passion.
There are teachers who leave lessons behind and then there are people who leave pieces of themselves in your heart forever and this is what my teacher has done!
